Do hanging knee raises and the captain’s chair provide the same workout for your abs?

I go to a gym and am working on my abs. There are machines for the captain’s chair and hanging knee raises. I know hanging knee raises are great for your abs, but I’m a little self conscious hanging there in the “guy’s section” (the captian’s chairs are a little more discreet.) Can I get the same workout from a captain’s chair? Thanks!

Pretty much. The captain’s chair was invented to take the stress off the shoulders when doing knee raises hanging from a bar.
